The Forgotten Child

Just back from the 'daily one o'clock' in Woodstock.

"Methinks she doth protest tooooo much."

That's Shakespeare.

This isn't scientific by any means, but word around the dressing room on Wednesday was much the same as yours.

Something very fishy.

PSST: The word is that the mystery person willing to put up the money for a ransom was a police officer trolling for motives.

Hey Gordo - word in the London Free Press is that people on that 'Facebook' thing have been saying that very same thing for weeks -

- but without any proof of mental instability.

All of this will be 'made sure' when the Free Press registers their own Facebook account and can get three 'friends' to verify such a statement.

As Editor-in-Chief Margaret Atwood Junior is constantly reminding us every Saturday in his 'Editor's Scibblings' (and twice a month in his 'Editors Page blog,) - It's a WHOLE new media world, baby. And don't blame our current product for our lack of sales and subscriptions.

... Well, now we got that 'proof' - what with this latest cock&bull story about limos and mysterious multi-millionaires willing to pay anonymous ransoms ... AND psychic Sylvia Browne.

... Butch - How stupid do you think the 'principles' in this case are? Do you think they'd actually fall for such an obvious sting-operation supposedly orchestrated by Julian Fantino?!?

As for Psychic Sylvia Browne - I've heard her many a time on the overnight AM radio show - and she hasn't been right yet. In fact, has messed up on-air. But then, on that program, her mishap would be dismissed as an 'anomoly.'

.... hey Gordo - in case you haven't heard - Kathleen Edwards opening for The Hip at Rock the Park. On a Thursday night.

Well, for one thing, Kathleen is a fine opener for Blue Rodeo - and for the Hip too.

But she's not the Hip's audience.

And why would anyone book the Hip for a Thursday night? Do we not have jobs the next day?

... I'll be listening to Kathleen in my backyard. For the rest, I'll just leave the upstairs bedroom windows open and hope for a good breeze.

Sonny,

I know 8-yr. old kids are gullible. I taught Gr. 4 - 6 for many years, and every year there were always a few kids in my class who would happily follow me home for supper - every day - if I didn't tell them they lived somewhere else and had their own parents.

I'd love to see Tori's school record folder to judge her mental acuity, but without that, many things re her parent's performance in front of an open mike hit me the wrong way.

**

I listened (again) to Kathleen in the workshop yesterday. She is one masterful singer/songwriter.

Thanks for the heads up re her opening at Rock the Park. I'll walk down from the Village w a hip flask.

Cheers,

GAH

'Fishy' doesn't come close to what I'm thinking. This is going to go from bad to worse to 'holy shit I did not see that coming'.

Just thinking out loud here.
