An Easter Message

"One man, He did not fall
He asked me for my love
And that was all.

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

... You'll be standing in The Light,
Standing in The Light."

This isn't really an Easter religious-type post. Just an excuse for some 80's cheese. As in big blonde hair. And dancers who are refugees from Xanadu. And red berets.

Go ahead, my sons, just click on the link and feel The Love.

Easter Weekend April 6-April 9, 2007

From the Song of Solomon 2:12: "For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle[dove] is heard in our land."

From Butch McLarty's Springtime Prayer: "The rainbow will soon be running at Denny's Dam and jOe Waglye's still cooking the mash. Betty's in heat again, so pitter-patter I'm getting at her."

Wow Butch - you're a man of surprises. You're a poet and don't even are aware of that.

Sonny, here's a song I put together for Frank.

New York, New York

Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York
These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
And make a brand new start of it
New York, New York
I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap

These little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York, New York!

I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap

These little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York, New York!

That one put my kids through college and got me a brand new, fur-lined pickup truck with mag wheels and a pair of furry oversized dice hanging from the rea view.

Here's another little gem that I wrote for Frank.

It's called, Come Fly With Me.

Come fly with me, let's fly let's fly away
If you can use, some exotic booze
Theres a bar in far Bombay
Come fly with me, we'll fly we'll fly away

Come fly with me, let's float down to Peru
In Lama Land, theres a one-man band
And he'll toot his flute for you
Come fly with me, well float down in the blue

Once I get you up there, where the air is rarefied
We'll just glide, starry eyed
Once I get you up there, I'll be holding you so near
You may hear angels cheer - because we're together

Weather wise it's such a lovely day
You just say the words and we'll beat the birds
Down to Acapulco Bay
It's perfect for a flying honeymoon - they say
Come fly with me, we'll fly we'll fly away.

Butch, you are a master lyricist. On the same level of the much-neglected Hal David.

And you have much better luck at that all-lyrics-all-the-time site than I do.

I end up misinterpreting most of them. Copyrighted or not.

Just type into Google Search any song you want lyrics to.

Say, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zep.

So you type in Stairway to Heaven lyrics.

Le voila and Bob's your uncle.
